Mandatory vaccinations for healthcare staff to be revoked
On 31 January 2022, the government announced its intention to revoke the regulations making coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination a condition of deployment in health and social care, subject to consultation and parliamentary process.
Government subsequently held a consultation between 9 and 16 February 2022 to seek views on the government’s intention to revoke the vaccination as a condition of deployment policy in health and social care.
The proposed requirement of mandatory vaccinations for health and social care staff, which was supposed to come into force in England on 1 April, was revoked on 15 March 2022.
